Introducing Fowl Treats: Where Care Meets
As animal lovers, we wanted to give our birds the best quality food so they can live long, happy and healthy lives. When buying treats, we discovered they were universally coming from low-quality producers overseas, there was no way of ensuring what we were getting. With Fowl Treats, you know exactly what you’re getting. No steroids or pollutants, just delicious and healthy dried mealworms.

How did we get our start?
Our brand story began with a heartwarming act of compassion – a young girl’s remarkable rescue of a duck named Eileen. Fueled by our love for animals, we embarked on a mission to provide the finest care, starting with their nutrition.
What makes our products unique?
Our ingredients are carefully sourced in the USA. Our worms come blended with well-studied supplements for gut, bone & respiratory health. Not only will your birds get a yummy treat, they will also be getting needed nutrients not found in their daily feed.

I’m happy! My 2 ducks, Otto and Gretta and 4 chickens, Rose, Ruby, Sage and Fern liked it. They’re all very fussy (spoiled) about what they eat. They did enjoy the product.

My chickens love the mixes. I wish the bags came in a bigger option since I have more than a couple girls. Other than that super awesome mixes!

The media could not be loaded. I’m going to be honest with you, my chickens love these treats… buuut they go crazy for most treats however and aren’t snobs for any brand name.I can at least, however, say that my chickens all have things they like and don’t like. I. This video, the two Wellsummers pictured like the bits of dried banana in this bag and will run off with them to keep them safe for the half second it takes to eat them. The Salmon Faverolles in the video don’t go out of their way to eat the bananas but they like everything. My Easter-egger will pick the pepitas/pumpkin seeds out of this first when I offer it to her – in fact I had no idea she liked them so much. Of course EVERYONE LOVES mealy worms. This bag of treats offers a great variety of things for the chickens to enjoy/try. Everything seemed fresh without any concerns for mold or contamination. My only complaint is that the bag is hard to open. Or I should say their complaint as they make it very clear I am being too slow. I open the bag inside now. This treat is on the expensive side of my personal budget, and I’ll probably have to stick to bags of just meal worms. However, with all the added extra goodies like the banana and pepitas it’s probably an okay price. Dried banana can be costly. When I have extra budget I would consider getting this again since I only give the chickens a few handfuls at a time about once or twice a week. My mom gives them less expensive treats and supplemental feed all other times.

My hens think this stuff is the bees knees. Sure, they’ll eat just about anything up to and including each other, because they are terrifying tiny dinosaurs. But there are things they will fight over and these treats are one of those things. It is expensive and not the treats a production flock owner would buy on a regular basis – no, these are for the people who have chickens as pets. You are not making money off your chickens if you are regularly feeding them these treats, but you’ll have very happy and healthy chickens (and ducks if you have them). And you’ll know that you are feeding them quality treats that are good for them, with ingredients that are sourced from responsibly managed suppliers – which is hard to find for poultry feed and especially treats like mealworms. And as an added bonus, Fowl Treats is a small women-owned American business. I will definitely be buying more once I run out!

I really like this medley for my chickens. I also share it with my guineas, and they like it as well. I have a treat dispenser and a treat tray on their perch for them. This works great because it’s a nice variety with different colors, textures, and flavors. After they have been free roaming, it’s a great way to lure them back in to their pen in the afternoon as well. I am pleased with the ingredients. It looks very wholesome and the ingredients are all recognizable. My feathered friends approve.

I visit family pretty regularly whom has a small flock of chickens that I have become a bit attached to. I just love going outside in the morning hours with my cup of coffee & giving the girls some scraps from the prior nights dinner… when I saw these treats I thought I would give it a go (after asking them if it was ok to give them these treats & they enthusiastically said SURE!) I’m not sure how often they get protein sources like this, but they sure seemed to enjoy it. Would recommend.

This is a somewhat pricey (but good!) bag of snacks if you have some backyard poultry. It contains a nice mix of things they like, from mealworms to pumpkin seeds, and is a good size bag to carry around for “treats.” I have bantam chickens, which are about 1/3 the size of their standard counterparts, and some of the treats are a bit big for them to eat. The banana pieces, for example, I have rip up into much smaller pieces for my chickens to eat them. Otherwise it’s a great bag of bird snacks!

Our peep of chickens are incredibly healthy eaters & get a small scoop of Fowl Treats added to their meals every morning. There’s never a bite left afterwards, a testament to how tasty the treats are.
