My old horse loves these.
Easy for my 21 year old horse with teeth issues to eat. Most horse treats are very hard. This is a bit softer to chew, but not too soft that it falls apart. He loves it.After several months of giving him 5 a day in his pellets, I do see a better gloss in his coat and maybe a little more fluid movement. Hard tell when he can’t tell me. But the ingredients should be beneficial.

Triglycerides
I take a statin but statins haven’t done much to control my triglycerides. My doctor suggested fish oil. When I started Dr. Tobias my triglycerides were over 400. After 6 months my last lab result was 187. I also exercise more and switched away from white starches in favor of wheat. So I believe a combination of the 3 worked. I had tried other fish oil products before with not much success.

Bought these for my senior horse because they other treats I had he had trouble chewing. They are perfect texture for him and as an added bonus my younger horses hate them so they don’t bug me when I’m giving the old guy treats!

Too hard
I bought these for my senior horse but they are too hard for him to eat. Gave some to younger horses at the barn and they were too hard for them also. The treats are pretty big and hard to break into pieces too. I am going to see if they might be more palatable when they are stale but overall, I am not happy with these and won’t buy them again.

My horse and dogs love these. She is out with fifty cows and runs to us when she hears the Gator coming. Forget the senior part, these are her favorites……by far. We call them horse cocaine.

My horse Brave loves these cookies! He’s in his early 20’s and has some arthritis so I like the ingredients plus the ease with chewing these cookies. He gets regular dental care but due to his age I avoid foods that could cause choking like carrots. These are great . I will definitely buy these again.

I don’t typically buy treats for my horse, but I couldn’t pass these up for just $4.00! I have a 15 year old Thoroughbred gelding, and he enjoys these. I really appreciate that they’re easy to chew (as he is prone to choking) and that they include Omega 3 fatty acids and glucosamine. I was worried he wouldn’t like them since they’re apple flavored (he doesn’t like actual apples), but nope! He eats them right up. I will be buying these again when our bag runs out. 😊

My mare loves them!
My little mare finds these delicious. A nutritious snack that helps keep joints healthy. She is only thirteen, but I feel it is never too early to keep on track with joint health. Be careful about amounts. The directions say no more than six ounces of biscuits per day and I don’t go over that. If giving them as rewards, I break them in half to stretch them out for training sessions.

Our horses won’t eat these, and they are HARD
We have two quarterhorses, ages 16 and 26.The younger is an easy keeper and will eat just about anything – and will eat all day long. He spit these treats out both times they were offered to him. The older enjoys treats but he would not eat these treats, either – and I’m not sure that he’d be able to chew them even if he desired to do so.I was particularly disappointed that these treats were marketed for senior horses given that the bag we got contained biscuits that were extremely hard rather than soft, which is what a senior horse needs. It was surprising just how hard these treats are. As a point of reference my girlfriend could not break one of these treats in half with her bare hands. This is surprising as she is a horsewoman and not a small person.I don’t mind having “rolled the dice” to see if our horses would like this product – but I do take issue with the product being marketed for Seniors given that these biscuits were exceptionally hard. Hopefully your horse will like these treats should you decide to try them – and will be able to chew them. Both of our horses enjoy the Nutrigood Low Sugar Snax Apple flavor treats.

Update: Found one! couldn’t find a horse in the barn who would eat these
Update to below comment — we found one horse in the barn who was willing to eat these. It took a little bit of nodding and chewing but he decided he liked them . He now will have a whole bag to himself…My 28 yr old mare can be picky so when she curled her lip and walked away I tried my 21 yr old gelding who eats anything. He spit it out and then rubbed his nose in his shavings. I tried a 10 yr old TB who loves treats and he spit it out along with an 18 yr old TB who did the same. Found out later that another boarder had the same issue and gave the bag away in hopes of finding a horse that might eat them. They smell a bit like licorice so maybe that is part of the issue? I am disappointed though, the description sounded perfect.

Great!
My TWH is a little cookie monster. The first time I offered them to him, he refused them so I threw them in his grain bucket. I usually give him a molasses based cookie, so he was used to those. The second day, he took them without question. Now he sniffs my pockets for cookies. Amazing price for quantity and quality. I have on auto order now.

MY HORSE EATS EVERYTHING
My horse eats everything and she will not touch these. The first day she actually put them in her mouth and spit them out. The second day i tried to break them up and put a in her grain, and when I came back the next day every morsel of grain was gone and the horse treats were still there. They are horrible

5 Horses hated them
The media could not be loaded.
I bought 2 bags of this item. I gave it to my horse who is known as Hoover at the barn. He eats anything! He spit it out. I tried it on 4 other horses and they all spit it out. If horses would vomit, they would have. Gagged at them. It was quite entertaining to watch all 5 of them spit it out. At the same time felt so bad I gave it to them. I was refunded for 1 bag. Disappointed at flavor. The other flavors are fine, I buy them all the time. Just wanted something for my senior that was healthier.

Smells like Black licorice! *Yuck*
Smells strongly of black licorice! Even though its “apple flavored”. I regret buying 2 bags of these, as my horses (who are NOT picky with treats), absolutely hate these and turn their noses up at it and/or spit it out. I dont blame them. These dont look or smell appealing at all 🙁 would not buy again!

My Senior Geldings Favorite Treat
We have a 30 + year old rescued gelding who came to us with bad teeth. His regular meals have to be soaked and he can’t even chew grass or hay safely so finding treats that are safe for him to eat with so few usable teeth has been a challenge. So far watermelon is the biggest hit alongside these Nutrigood Senior Snax. They dissolve quickly in his mouth reducing the risk that he will choke on them and he really seems to love the flavor. It’s a bonus that they’re formulated with flaxseed, glucosamine and biotin (all good things for skin, coat and creaky senior horse bones and hooves). Definitely would recommend these for those looking for something appropriate for senior horses with special needs relative to tooth condition or diet restrictions.

Good Treat, but Be Wary of “Senior” Branding
My 11yo gelding loves these “Senior” treats and is the best way for him to ingest flax, omegas, glucosamine, etc… They are shelf-stable, easy to carry in pockets, and relatively well-flavored.**However,** after diving deep into the nutritional analysis of these treats marketed for senior horses, there are two “red flags:”- Sugar content: This is not readily labeled on the bags or any site I reviewed.By looking at the ingredients list (ie molasses and brown sugar), I have (unofficially) calculated 98.5g of sugar per 2oz of treats. Most senior horses are sugar-limited or sugar-sensitive, so would appreciate an official breakdown from the supplier.- Texture: These are hard, unbreakable treats. Most senior equine owners would prefer soft treats due to aging dentition.

TOO HARD FOR OLD TEETH
I bought these for my wife’s old horse and she struggled to chew them, so she gave them to other horse owners at her barn and they said the same thing. YOU WOULD THINK BY NOW MANNA WOULD MAKE A LARGE, LOW PRICED BAG OF TASTY SOFT CHEW TREATS FOR HORSES, BUT EVERYTHING THEY SELL IS JUST TOO HARD.

My horse loves it, her buddies do not!!
My horse absolutely loves these treats. She’s always sniffing my pockets to see if any are in there and she gobbles them up. Her stall mates, however, spit them out onto the ground. Not one of the 6 other horses that I have given them to, would eat them!! I’m glad I don’t have to share….more for my girl!(My horse hates apples though, so, who knows who the weird one really is!)

The ingredients in this product make it much more than a treat!
These “treats” contain a number of ingredients to help an older horse: Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Biotin, Glucosamine, Vitamin E, and NATURAL apple flavor. There are many treats, but I believe these have best ingredients. I have been feeding them to my horses for years. By the way, they are breakable: my pony gets 1/2 of each “treat” in her two feedings. |

Take a few of these to the barn in my pocket for my 30-year old QH and he seems to love them. Of course, I love him and always take him a treat. These are great to keep in my pantry and I don’t have to worry about spoilage as I do with carrots.

most horses seem to like them
I’ve bought these a couple of times when they were on sale to donate to a horse rescue. Since many of their horses are older, these seemed a good idea, although I have brought other, “regular” treats as well. Most of the horses seem to like them, though not everyone does. They smell like anisette to me, so I guess it depends on if a horse likes licorice. One horse kept licking my hands after he ate the treat, so I guess he’s quite a licorice fan. I did bite one in half, however, to split between two horses when I was down to my last treat, and I can’t say I personally enjoyed the flavor.

HORSES HATED THEM!!!!
I am very disappointed, I don’t know if I got a bad batch or if these treats just suck, my horse wouldn’t even take this treat from my hand after spitting out the first one I gave him, he is not usually picky but I thought maybe he just wasn’t a big fan of the flavor so I walked around the barn to try it on some of the other horses, every single horse would take the first one and then immediately spit the treats back out, not a single horse ate one. I will say that the barn dogs loved them, but that’s not saying much considering I’ve watched them eat an array of inedible objects. Again I’m not sure if it was just my batch that was bad or if these are just awful treats, but I bought two bags of these because I had high hopes, and I can assure you I will be sending them back.
