My horse’s favorite treat!
My horse loves these and they are the perfect size to slip one or two to him daily when I see him. I love that once I bought the 15 pounds in the large storage bin, I can order the 15 pounds of cookies in a plain brown box for less and just refill my storage container. Excellent.

Great horse cookies!
I have tried other brands and I always come back to Mrs. Pastures. Low sugar and my horses love them at bedtime!

Best horse treats on the market
Best horse treats on the market. They smell like oatmeal molasses cookies! My horses ( and dogs) love these. I’ve bought them for many years. I keep two plastic Mrs. Pastures buckets in my barn. These are refilled when empty. I like that these treats are made from whole grains, not by products. They are also dry not sticky, so they work well in treat pouches. This is another example of the adage: you get what you pay for!!

For 30 years my horses turn up their noses at other brands
I discovered these in an article in “Michael Plumb’s Horse Journal” about 30-35 years ago. Since my first purchase, every horse I have owned has expressed a clear preference for Mr. Pastures over any of the extruded and flavored brands, and even over brand name apples like Honey Crisp and Fuji, and Gala. My current mare has even learned to eat these cookies slowly and without crunching, after figuring out that the sound attracted all the other horses. If she eats them silently, she has a chance at more for herself.

Best horse cookies ever!
My boy will do anything to get one of these cookies. They are pricey, but for me, knowing how Trooper LOVES them – they are worth it. Also, because they are so dry, as long as g the hey are stored in a moisture free container and location, they don’t spoil. One 15 lb box (emptied into a plastic container that seals tightly) lasts several months for my one horse.

They come running for these cookies!!
Forget that the cookies are all natural and good for the horses, they are just plain delicious! The aroma is easy for the horses to pick up from a distance, and they literally come running! The cookies are big enough to give as a treat when you are in the saddle, which makes it convenient to provide them with reinforcement while onboard. I highly recommend Mrs. Pastures’ as the perfect, healthy treat for your equine buddy!

Best horse cookies
These have been my ponies’ favorite horse cookies for the last 20 years. This is a very economical way to buy them if you have bought the bucket previously. Fresh, well packaged and quickly shipped. Thank you!

Not up to standard
I’m a long-time horse owner but fairly new to store-bought horse treats. I discovered Mrs. Pastures cookies about a couple years ago and my horses and I love them. Simple ingredients, wonderful smell and with the way the horses react to them, they must taste fantastic. We couldn’t be happier. I was buying the 5 pound bag at a tack and feed store and when I stopped in recently to buy a new bag there were none to be had. The gal told me the company had been bought and she thought they were in a transitioning period. My first thought was to race home and order a couple bags from Amazon so I could have some of the original cookies before they were changed by the new owner. I’ve had it happen with dog food and figured it’d be no different with these treats; a big corporation steps in and buys a perfectly good mom-and-pop product then feel the need to “improve” it. I bought the 15 pound refill box (for $77) and when I opened the bag my first impression was that the cookies were not the same. The color was off, these new ones were darker. They smelled fine though so I transferred the bag into a container and took some out to my horses. The first sign there was a problem was when my gelding put his ears up and sniffed the cookie in the palm of my hand like it was a foreign object. I’d gone through several of those 5 pound bags and never had him do that with a new one. He took it and did that thing they do with something new; he repeatedly dipped his nose towards his chest while puffing out his nostrils as if to smell it as he rolled it around with his tongue figuring out what it was and if he wanted to eat it. I don’t know if he dropped it or if he spit it out but the cookie hit the ground. I rinsed it off and held it out for him again, he did the same routine only a lot less and ended up eating it. I handed him a second cookie and he ate it. My 3 year old filly sucked both of hers down without any questions. When I got back to the house I compared a new cookie to the remnants of my 5 pound bag and found I’d been right about the color difference. I also discovered there was an additional smell in the new cookies. The smell of the old cookies reminded me of a natural breakfast cereal and while this smell was also in the new cookies there was a faint but distinct oily-like smell in them that was not present in the old ones. I instantly felt bad for not noticing this before I fed them to my horses. Nobody colicked or got the squirts but I don’t know the cause for the differences in these cookies and I won’t feed them, so one star; they’re useless to me and my horses and are being thrown out today. They’re non-returnable but a refund or replacement can be requested. I really wanted to get a replacement but decided not to risk it and am asking for a refund. If and when that feed/tack store gets the 5 lb bags back in, if the color looks right I’ll try them again. They’re the best horse treats I’ve found and I really hope the issues get resolved.

Best horse treat on the market
I have been buying these treats forever but for the first time I bought the 15-lb refill. Unfortunately I got about 25% crumbled mess in one bag and more than that in the other. If you buy these, suggest you don’t get the refill — spend the extra few dollars on a container instead.

I love them – they’re delicious, especially with a glass of milk. Sometimes I give a couple to my horses, who really enjoy them too – although without the milk. Your horse will probably go crazy for them too.

The #1 Horse Cookie of Famous Race Horses
This cookie was recommended by one of my favorite Kentucky Derby winning racehorse trainers. I originally sent a gift of these to his most famous horse; now retired but former multi million dollar winning racer Lava Man. If these cookies are good enough for Lava Man, they should be good enough your most picky ponies. Mrs. Pastures should give Lava Man an endorsement deal!

I’ve ordered these several times and have always had good luck with them. This time the quality of the product was below expectations. Not many oats and they seemed overcooked. My horse eats them so I didn’t return, but they were definitely substandard as compared to previous orders.Carmen
