I use black soldier fly larvea for one purpose and that’s treats.They are among the healthiest treats packed with calcium,proteins,and fats.The 23% fat is why I only use them for treats and the calcium helps the egg shells.Opening the bag and give it a whiff.They smell just like a bag of peanuts and chickens can’t resist them.I also use these for training my chickens to come back to their coops when they get stubborn.They hear me shake the bag while I make my own qualish “coo” sound.You can make up your own sound.They come running.I throw two handful into the coops and in they go immediately! Only give them the treats half the time I make the sound.But it works 100% of the time getting them back when you call them.A 25lb back will last me two months as I also give them these treats when I don’t need them back into the coops.But I always shake bag and make the coo call.Great product and worms are completely dry.So no bad gross smell or icky feeling when grabbing the worms.They are as dry as potato chips.All you have to do is keep them dry and they don’t go stale.Great product which I will buy again.Also this product is nearly the cheapest you’ll find per pound.

The chickens love them. The morning, demanding squawks wake me up every day. Dried worms can be pricy and this is good value for the amount. I like black soldier flies (aka phoenix worms) over mealworms because the nutrition is better. They hold up well over time. Bonus, our wild bird buddies like them, too.
